August 14, 2008 - PPT VISION, Inc. introduces the IMPACT Software Suite version 8.0. In addition to adding support for the latest IMPACT T3X Series hardware, this latest software release includes an ab-undance of enhancements and new functions that revolutionize machine vision software. New features include the ability to drag and drop tools and controls, snap-to-grid alignment on the control panel canvas, and easy data linking between vision tools and controls—making it one of the most user-friendly and versatile machine vision software on the market today.
The IMPACT Vision Program Manager (VPM) included in this software features more than 120 tools, including OCR, blob analysis, circle gauge, circular pattern find, line find, sub-pixel gauging and many additional sophisticated vision tools, allowing users to create vision programs for a broad range of demanding applications. With its pre-configured built-in operator panel, the VPM displays inspection data and pass/fail results at the touch of a button, while its new “drag-and-drop” feature makes the already easy-to-use programming interface even more user-friendly.
The IMPACT Software Suite version 8.0 also includes the IMPACT Control Panel Manager (CPM), allowing users to create professional, custom control panels with multiple image displays, data charts, real-time inspection results with password-protected panels, frames and tabs—all using the CPM’s more than 60 fully-configurable controls. Plus, the CPM’s intuitive programming interface expedites setup, so users can create advanced control panel applications in one-third of the time consumed using earlier software versions.
Other new enhancements in version 8.0 include the support of the Modbus communications protocol, an enhanced OCR tool with speed improvements up to 50% faster, the addition of step-and-repeat capabilities to the setup panels of all Line Gauge tools, a new Tolerance control and much more.
The IMPACT Software Suite also comes with multi-language support, allowing users to create a language resource file so that all user-interface text within the software can be displayed in their local language. Completed resource files for Chinese, Japanese and German are currently available.
This new and improved IMPACT Software Suite, coupled with the complete line of IMPACT Intelligent Cameras, defines a new level of capability and performance in the machine vision industry with powerful algorithms and a one-of-a-kind, sophisticated, user-friendly programming interface.
