Integration Objects upgrades OPCNet Broker tunneling solution
April 15, 2010 – The need to securely transfer and access data has never been more prominent and while OPC is the top communication standard for accessing data remotely, having to configure Microsoft DCOM when the OPC client and server applications are installed on two separate machines can cause frustrating security and configuration headaches.

Because of the issues involved with DCOM, such data transfers can be difficult to configure, can encounter errors when network communication is interrupted and can cause security gaps. Regardless of these concerns, however, such configurations are vital - linking business enterprise systems with production systems increases the visibility of the manufacturing supply chain and creates a more agile business environment.

In an effort to provide companies with solutions to their communication configuration obstacles, Integration Objects has released an upgraded version of their OPCNet Broker OPC tunneling solution.

OPCNet Broker DA HDA AE for industrial network security and connectivity ensures fast, reliable and secure OPC remote communication by bypassing DCOM bottlenecks and by tunneling data through multiple firewalls and domains. It enables networked computers to access OPC real-time, historical and alarms and events data.

With the upgraded version of OPCNet Broker, DA, HDA and AE data can be connected across different domains while only opening a limited number of ports within firewalls so that security holes are minimized. It secures the sequence of events through several networks and ensures the security of data transmission by using encryption/decryption and by requiring user authentication to avoid unauthorized access.

With the help of Integration Objects' data tunneling solutions, companies can now securely solve communication configuration problems with maximized security, little effort and no DCOM headaches.
