Research Triangle Park, NC (August 22, 2007) - ISA will host an invitation-only Executive Summit at ISA EXPO 2007, held 2-4 October at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas. The summit, planned for Wednesday, 3 October from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m., will focus on defining a forward-looking vision for the industry and discussing courses of action for bringing change.

Specifically, the summit will focus on workforce development issues impacting the automation profession including the development of an automation engineering curriculum and public advocacy for the profession.

ISA intends to serve as an unbiased platform for leaders to come together and discuss opportunities for improvement in the industry. The summit will serve as a starting point for future discussion, actions, and collaborations within the industry. ISA intends to coordinate efforts, recommend actions, implement plans, and lead the way in advancing our profession and the professionals within it.

"ISA is working to set the stage for the future and demonstrate our commitment of advocating for the profession, and we need the help of the industry's leaders to make that happen. We've been encouraged by our recent conversations with Senators Burr and Rockefeller of the US Congress and their full support of our workforce development program.
We're ready to position the industry for change," said ISA Executive Director and CEO Patrick Gouhin.

Corporate executives interested in attending the summit should contact ISA.
