Research Triangle Park, NC - September 24, 2007 - The 3rd Annual ISA Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Conference, held 6-7 November at ISA Headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC, will focus on systems for designing, analyzing, and controlling manufacturing through timely measurement of critical quality and performance attributes of raw and in-process materials and processes. The event, sponsored by the ISA Food and Pharmaceutical and Analysis Divisions and the ISA Tarheel Section, helps attendees learn how to ensure final product quality.

The conference includes a tutorial, which provides information on FDA defined tools involved in process analytical technology that improves safety, quality, and efficiency in the manufacturing process. Attendees will have a chance to learn from other professionals who have successfully implemented new process analytical technologies in their factories and from worldwide experts in the latest developments.

The event will begin with a tutorial entitled "Overview of On-Line Process Analytical Technology Tools," taught by industry expert James Tatera on 6 November, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. After the tutorial, a networking and exhibition reception will be held. On 7 November, attendees will enjoy numerous conference sessions and exhibits from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Conference session topics include the PAT initiative, utilizing on-line liquid chromatography for process monitoring automation and control, PAT in the biologics industry, sample conditioning systems, pharmaceutical development, on-line process analyzers, multivariate data, process and end point monitoring controls and tools, analyzer calibration and validation, using chemometrics for the analysis of PAT data, and compliance regulation for automatic systems.

Exhibit and sponsorship opportunities, registration information, hotel accommodations, and more can be found online at www.isa.org/pat.
