Research Triangle Park, NC (21 February 2008) -- ISA released its ISA20 Instrument Specification Forms on CD-ROM. The content of the CD-ROM extends beyond the designs of ISA20, and carries detailed instrument and controls information that can be used across industries.

Easy-to-use Microsoft Excel templates are the result of the work of three teams of engineers and five organizations: Eli Lilly and Company, Intergraph Corporation, Jacobs Engineering, Process Automation Sourcing Solutions, and Fluor Corporation. They have provided customized ISA20 specifications forms for the pharmaceutical and similar industries.

These forms carry descriptive options; utilize uniform terminology and application development of instrument design tools; provide detail for quoting and purchasing; serve as an efficient permanent record of installation; and are user friendly-utilizing the Microsoft Excel formatting called upon around the world.

These forms, designed to assist the specification writer in presenting key information, are intended to cover the most universal instrument types used in the pharmaceutical and other industries. Blank fields allow data entry into applicable sections: general information about the vendor may be entered; process data, process connection and process conditions are included depending on the equipment type.

Other form sections include options for purchasing data, including the name of the manufacturer, equipment model number, purchase order number, and labeling requirements. There is even space for special notes. Custom designable, these sections may be revised by the user to enter other appropriate section names and information; and company logo and basic data may be entered into the footnote. The forms may be used to specify a single or multi-item specification instruments per form. Pre-defined drop-down "pick-lists" for some of the data fields facilitate efficient data entry and data integrity.

This product includes one CD-ROM with 73 "fill-in-the-blank" style templates, in Microsoft Excel format.
