Research Triangle Park, NC – December 19, 2007 - ISA recently awarded 13 individuals for exceptional service to ISA standards and practices activities in 2007. Each year, ISA's Standards and Practices Department reviews the overall participation of over 3,000 individuals involved in ISA standards activities to identify and honor those who have provided exceptional service to the Department and the automation profession through their work on ISA standards development committees. The following professionals were awarded honors in 2007: • Donald C. Clark for his leadership and technical contributions as vice-chairperson of the ISA95 committee, essential in the development and widespread application of the ISA95 series on Enterprise-Control System Integration. • David D. Emerson for his outstanding technical contributions, vital in the development and widespread application of the industry-leading ISA88 standards series on Batch Control and ISA95 series on Enterprise-Control System Integration. • Robert A. Fredricksen for his technical expertise and commitment to excellence, vital in the revision of ISA-RP67.04.01, Methodologies for the Determination of Setpoints for Nuclear-Related Safety Instrumentation. • Timothy E. Hurst for his many years of leadership as chairman of ISA67.04, Setpoints for Safety-Related Instrumentation Used in Nuclear Power Plants. His dedication and past service have been invaluable to the committee. • Joseph H. Kuczka for his many years of service as chairman of ISA12.22, Explosionproof and Flameproof Enclosures. His leadership and technical contributions have been invaluable to the committee. • Gerald Liu for assuming the role of chairman of ISA75.10, Flexible Clamp or Pinch Valves. His diligence and research have motivated the committee to forge ahead with the committee's standards. • Christian M. Monchinski for his technical input, writing skills, and hard work, vital in the development of the industry-leading ISA95 series of standards on Enterprise-Control System Integration. • Rudolf Neustadter for his past years of service as chairman of the committee for ISA67.02, Instrument Sensing Line Piping and Tubing Standards for Use in Nuclear Power Plants. His leadership and dedication have been invaluable to the committee. • Robert M. Queenan for his technical expertise and commitment to excellence, vital in the revision of ANSI/ISA-67.04.01-2006, Setpoints for Nuclear Safety-Related Instrumentation. • James R. Redmon for his technical expertise and commitment to excellence, vital in the revision of ISA67.06.01, Performance Monitoring for Nuclear Safety-Related Instrument Channels in Nuclear Power Plants. • Gilbert Richards for his many years of service as chairman of ISA75.10, Flexible Clamp or Pinch Valves. His leadership and technical contributions have been invaluable to the committee. • William G. Sotos for his many years of service as chairman of ISA67, Nuclear Power Plant Standards. His leadership and technical contributions have been invaluable to the committee. • Jerry D. Voss for his technical expertise and diligent work, vital in the revision of ISA-RP67.04.01, Methodologies for the Determination of Setpoints for Nuclear-Related Safety Instrumentation.
