ITT introduces BIW power feedthru connector
November 4, 2009 - ITT Interconnect Solutions developed a high-temperature electric power feedthru system for submersible pumps. BIW handles conductor temperatures up to 450°F (230°C). The engagement system between the high temperature feedthru and the mating surface connector includes a Metal-Lok keying system, which prevents rotation of the surface connector should it be inadvertently turned or mishandled.

ITT modified the exterior surface of the connector for improved heat transfer and better cooling properties, and internal insulators are manufactured from high temperature PEEK materials. The high temperature feedthru connector system is CSA-approved for use in Class I, Division 1 hazardous locations. The connector system is rated to 5,000VAC for up to 140A and features a pressure rating of 3000psig.
