June 24th - Jemmac released V1-7 of OPCFailover OPC redundancy offering. This latest version brings a number of performance and usability enhancements following feedback from a rapidly growing user community.

The basic V1-7 OPCFailover architecture remains the same as previous releases. The OPCFailover service facilitates direct OPCClient and OPCServer communication whilst managing the on-the-fly reconfiguration of the DCOM settings enabling timely failover to alternate OPCServers. V1-7 speeds this whole process up with pre-emptive failover, detached I/O management and sophisticated handling of [all too common] deadlocked OPCServers.

"There are a number of OPC redundancy offerings in the market place. Until now all these offering introduced a local 'proxy/passthru' OPCServer which introduces a single point of failure, complicates security and compromises performance. With OPCFailover the OPCClient are connected to the real OPCServers. We have found our growing customer base really appreciate this simplicity and the robustness it brings," said Mark Fisher, OPCFailover Product Manager. "The fact that OPCFailover is vendor neutral and works with all DCOM based OPC DA, HDA and A&E OPCServers is an added bonus."

Jemmac Software Ltd are a UK based company providing software consultancy and development services to a range of industry sectors. Jemmac have a growing reputation of delivery quality solutions to the Oil and Petrochemical sector with OPCFailover following in the footsteps of their flagship product SapphireTrend.
