Clinton Township, Michigan May 7, 2007 KUKA Robotics will introduce its new KUKA KR5 Sixx CR 6-axis cleanroom & splash proof robot at the 2007 International Display Symposium Exhibition in Long Beach, CA May 20-25th (booth #1544). The Sixx robot family was designed for customers with applications requiring 6-axis functionality for long reach tasks," said Stuart Shepherd, president of KUKA Robotics Corporation. This new tabletop model will give manufacturers a cleanroom robot capable of optimum acceleration and maximum working velocities. Due to its small size, the KUKA KR5 Sixx CR cleanroom robot can be integrated easily without unnecessary space consumption and satisfies the numerous requirements of cleanroom applications. The new robot when combined with KUKA Robotics user friendly PC-based control platform will give customers an extremely easy to use and easy to learn pick and place automation solution for the most extreme cleanroom requirements. The robot with a 650 mm reach and payload capacity up to 5 kg meets the appropriate ISO and DIN standards for clean room operation and is class 5 according to DIN EN ISO 14644-1 and class 100 according to US Federal Standard 209 E. Additionally, Ralf Ziegler, product manager of KUKA Roboter Germany, will be presenting the latest research on cleanroom rated 6-axis robots for flat panel display (FPD) applications on Wednesday, May 23rd at 11:00 am as part of the shows Exhibitors Forum. KUKA Robotics Corporation, with its parent company KUKA Roboter GmbH, Augsburg, Germany, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial robots, with an annual production volume approaching 10,000 units, and an installed base of over 75,000 units. The companys 5 and 6 axis robots range from 3kg to 570kg payloads, and 635mm to 3700mm reach, all controlled from a common PC based controller platform. KUKA robots are utilized in a diverse range of industries including the appliance, automotive, aerospace, consumer goods, logistics, food, pharmaceutical, medical, foundry and plastics industries and in multiple applications including material handling, machine loading, assembly, packaging, palletizing, welding, bending, joining, and surface finishing. |
