Gift Endows the KUKA Chair of Robotics to be Held by International Robotics Expert Henrik Christensen

Clinton Township, Michigan — April 5, 2006 – KUKA Robotics Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of industrial robots, today announced it has donated $1.5 million to the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. The gift endows the KUKA Chair of Robotics to be held by international robotics expert Dr. Henrik Christensen. Also donated is a KUKA KR 15SL stainless steel robot to be used to develop automation solutions for various industries including the poultry and fruit industries.

"KUKA is proud to support the College of Computing at Georgia Tech in their continued pursuit of advanced robotic solutions," noted Leroy Rodgers II, president of KUKA Robotics Corporation. "Their interdisciplinary approach is unique in the robotics field, facilitating advanced developments in robotic applications and technology."

“We believe this generous gift from KUKA Robotics will impact both short and long term developments in the field of robotics,” said Richard A. DeMillo, the John P.
