Matrikon deploys alarm management at Sasol Synfuels

Edmonton, Alberta – July 26, 2007 - Matrikon announced that Sasol’s Synfuels operations at Secunda is deploying Matrikon's alarm management solution throughout their plant. Sasol Synfuels, located in Secunda South Africa, is the world’s largest synthetic fuels facility.

The alarm management solution includes Matrikon's Alarm Manager for alarm management, archiving, alarm system auditing and the management of changes made to the system.

Matrikon offers Sasol Synfuels a comprehensive alarm management solution. Matrikon’s leadership in universal connectivity via MatrikonOPC enables the solution to interface to the various process control systems deployed throughout the massive Sasol Synfuels operations. Matrikon also provides an extensive product development program and support.

The solution will be deployed throughout the Sasol Synfuels site in an ongoing roll out program over the next six to 12 months. Sasol Synfuels implemented Matrikon's ProcessDoctor (PID) solution in 2004 (ProcessDoctor is now called Matrikon Control Performance Monitor). In combination, the control monitoring and alarm management solutions provide unique insights into the plant's performance.
