Edmonton, AB March 2006 - EEMUA studies have shown that control room operators should encounter six alarms per hour to effectively function and correctly interpret alarm information. In reality, operators are experiencing over 150 alarms per hour. This overwhelming amount of alarms results in operator stress, alarm floods, loss of production time and unplanned shutdowns. Matrikons Alarm Management Hands-on Workshop is designed to help process control professionals resolve alarm problems such as nuisance alarms. At the end of April, engineers, operators, and managers will be traveling across North America to attend this two-day workshop in Houston, Texas. After the workshop, participants will be able to resolve their plant's current alarm system problems and take action to ensure stability, accountability and profitability in their plant. It is the practical hands-on aspect of our workshops that provide a great deal of value to attendees, says 25 year engineering veteran and alarm management expert, Mark McTavish. These workshops enable participants to immediately apply what they have learned to make measurable and significant improvements to their alarm system. Scheduled sessions during the two-day event include: Registration & Details: www.matrikon.com/training/workshops/course-schedule.aspx About Matrikon Matrikon provides complete software solutions and professional services to leaders in oil & gas, power, petrochemical, mining, pulp & paper, chemical and other industries.
