| Matrikon Makes DCS Alarm Management of Change Easy | ||

April 2006 – Matrikon™ Inc. announces the release of Alarm MOCCA™ version 2.1, its premier windows-based alarm system Management of Change software application. This latest release eliminates the need for onerous change management procedures by automatically tracking changes made to the Distributed Control System (DCS). Alarm MOCCA simplifies DCS integrity assessment by empowering users to not only validate every parameter, but also validate whether configuration guidelines are being followed. With multi-language support and customizable reports, Alarm MOCCA allows users to quickly assess and act upon the information that is pertinent to them. With full Microsoft Excel integration with a Master Alarm Database housed in either Microsoft SQL or Oracle, information is readily exportable to existing software applications to facilitate information distribution and root cause analysis. Alarm MOCCA also helps reduce the burden of the alarm rationalization process and ensures that alarm system improvements are not only sustained, but continuously improved. Incident investigations prove that there is a strong correlation between industrial accidents and ineffective alarm management.
