Matrikon Inc. (TSX: MTK) today announced the following appointments to its technology team:

  • Dr. Peter Lawrence has been appointed chief technology officer (CTO), responsible for leading Matrikon’s long term technology strategy. Peter’s 30-year career has included key technical management and strategic positions focusing on the application of automation and information technology. In his career, Peter has founded several instrumentation, automation and information companies and divisions. Prior to joining Matrikon, he was the founder and president of Resolution Integration Solutions, Inc. (whose assets were acquired by Matrikon in 2005), technical director at Morrison Knudsen Corporation, vice president of KBC Process Consultants, Inc., a founder of KBC Process Automation, and founder of Process Automations and Computer Systems. Peter holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University and a Doctorate from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology.

  • Jay Funnell has been appointed chief software architect (CSA). Jay has been a product architect at Matrikon since 2000 and has been team lead on several strategic products, including Alarm Manager, Operational Insight and infrastructure technologies. Prior to joining Matrikon, Jay was a senior software engineer at various software development firms. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from the University of Alberta.
