METTLER TOLEDO Announces Q.i. LITE, a Commercial Material Transfer and Cut-Off Control Solution

METTLER TOLEDO Announces Q.i. LITE, a Commercial Material Transfer and Cut-Off Control Solution
New Technology Offers Functionality, Conformance and Tools to Batching, Blending and Filling Environments

COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 27, 2004) – METTLER TOLEDO is proud to introduce Q.i. (Quality Impact) LITE, the first commercially available material transfer control solution, designed to deliver higher levels of performance to organizations requiring smaller, more basic processes, yet coupled with a need for precision and unsurpassed functionality. Specifically developed for group feeds and 2-speed feed management batching, blending and/or filling systems, Q.i. LITE significantly lowers the total cost of ownership of manufacturing systems through innovation, functionality and durability.

Q.i. LITE monitors material transfer operations by measuring the flow rate of a material at periodic points, and then building a mathematical model of the process. Based on historical information gathered, it predicts how the delivery system will react when instructed by the control system to complete the material transfer (feed).

Approved to meet many global standards, Q.i. LITE can be utilized in a wet, dusty or dry environment, in hazardous areas with appropriate barriers, in legal for trade applications and in applications regulated by the management of change/recording of data.

In its entirety, the Q.i. LITE incorporates measurement, filtering, asset management, control, data logging, statistical process control (SPC), and communications technologies in a single package.

“Q.i. LITE simplifies engineering complexity and consistently maximizes production performance,” offers Tom Tait, METTLER TOLEDO Industrial Business Area Market Manager. “By optimizing material feed cut-off control, production capacity and quality are simultaneously increased. It also produces statistical process control reports for production, quality and maintenance optimization – making it one of the most valuable hardware tools available on the market today.”

METTLER TOLEDO is a leading global manufacturer of precision instruments. The Company is the world's largest manufacturer and marketer of weighing instruments for use in laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications. The Company also holds top-three market positions in several related analytical instruments and is a leading provider of automated chemistry systems used in drug and chemical compound discovery and development.
