Molex announces eNetMeter Portable Test Unit for DeviceNet
November 3, 2010 – Molex announced the Brad eNetMeter DN diagnostic tool is now available as a portable solution. The eNetMeter Portable Test Unit (PTU) bundles the eNetMeter hardware and NetAlytix software along with a 24V DC power supply and quick connections to both DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP in a hardened industrial case. The revamped Brad NetAlytix v2 software makes it easier to quickly access DeviceNet signal issues using the network status tree and CAN waveform viewer. Additionally, Faceplates are now available for the Rockwell Automation PanelView family of human machine interface products that allow quick access to specific data collected from the network by the eNetMeter DN.

As with the eNetMeter DN, the eNetMeter PTU is a passive device that continuously monitors a DeviceNet network and sends the information over Ethernet to a PLC or PC monitoring system. The information can be read directly by an EtherNet/IP master. Optionally, data can be accessed through a DLL interface, an OPC server or NetAlytix software. The NetAlytix v2 software provides an easy-to-use graphical display of network data and a tree display for all network nodes being monitored by eNetMeter for faster access to data for a specific MAC ID. Nodes are color-coded to depict their status. For example, green signals tell users that everything is working properly, while yellow signals a warning and red indicates an error.
