Moxa Americas News
| Moxa Releases Windows CE Versions Embedded Computers | ||

Taipei, Taiwan, January 2006In order to provide customers with a broader selection of products, Moxa is planning the release of Windows CE versions of their well-known UC-7400 family of ready-to-run embedded computers. The scheduled launch date is the latter part of Q1 of 2006. Moxa has chosen version 5.0 of the 32-bit, open-source, scalable Windows CE as the operating system for these new products. Software engineers can use Windows CE to build a wide range of innovative, small footprint devices. The typical Windows CEbased device is designed for a specific use, and often runs disconnected from other computers, or as part of an army of distributed front-end computers that communicate with a central host. Examples include enterprise tools (industrial controllers, communications hubs, and point-of-sale terminals) and display devices (HMI, advertisement appliances, and interactive panels). MOXAs professional kernel development experience with embedded small footprint communication devices provides the technical capability required to port the Windows CE 5.0 kernel. The new Windows CE embedded computers will join Moxas Linux embedded computers to pack a big 1-2 punch in the embedded systems market. About MOXA Moxa Systems is part of the Moxa Group, a conglomerate that manufactures device networking products for industrial automation. Information about all Moxa products, which include industrial Ethernet switches, serial device servers, multiport serial cards, and embedded device servers, is available on the Moxa Groups corporate website. |
