MTS Sensors News
| MTS Receives 3-A Sanitary Standards and 3-A Accepted Practices Verification |
CARY, N.C. (October 24, 2005) MTS Systems Corp. Sensors Division has met the third party verification inspection requirement for use of the 3-A symbol on its M-Series Level Sensor after a strict audit was conducted to ensure designs and manufacturing processes met 3-A standard 74-03 requirements. We are very pleased to be recognized as a company that meets the new enhanced criteria for the Sanitary Standards and Accepted Practices certifications from 3-A, said Adrian Totten, MTS Marketing and Sales Manager. To receive this 3rd party verification validates our position as a supplier of 3-A approved level sensors for the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. The 3-A Sanitary Standards Inc. organization formulates sanitary standards and accepted practices for the sanitary design, fabrication, installation and cleanability of dairy and food equipment or systems used to handle, process and package consumable products where a degree of sanitation is required. The sanitary standards and accepted practices are developed through a cooperative effort of industry experts and provide material specifications, design criteria and other information for equipment to satisfy public health concerns; protect consumable products from contamination; and to ensure all product surfaces can be mechanically cleaned or easily dismantled for manual cleaning. M-series sensors are highly accurate and repeatable magnetostrictive sensors with applications in pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical processing, water treatment and petrochemical markets. The M-series sanitary configurations are available in a wide-variety of output configurations including digital and analog. A wide-selection of sanitary floats and end plug configurations are also available which allow for easy removal and cleaning of the float and pipe.
