New compact and reliable general purpose power supplies from Phoenix Contact
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., July 26, 2006 - TRIO Power supplies, the new line of general purpose power supplies from Phoenix Contact, provide maximum power quality and reliability in a compact form factor. With rugged, zinc-plated steel housing measuring between 32 and 115mm wide, the TRIO occupies less space than most DIN-rail-mounted power supplies.

The TRIO addresses applications requiring 2.5 to 20 amps of 24-volt DC power and features the same power output regulation as Phoenix Contact's QUINT, MINI and STEP power supply products. Like those products, the TRIO has a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) rating of >500,000 hours, in accordance with IEC 61709, at nominal load and high 40¢ª Celsius test standard. In addition, the TRIO is backed by a five-year USA warranty.

The TRIO operates in temperatures ranging from zero to 70° Celsius and features a 55° Celsius (131° Fahrenheit) nominal operating temperature without de-rating. Other features include built-in LED diagnostic indication, adjustable 22.5-29.5 volt DC output and three DC grounding terminals. The wide, universal AC voltage input and international approvals, such as CE and UL 508 Listing, make the TRIO ideal for worldwide use.

Phoenix Contact, with U.S. headquarters in Middletown, Pa., is an independent subsidiary of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG of Blomberg, Germany, which operates 40 subsidiaries around the globe and employs more than 7,500 people.
