August 26, 2009 - The SSD Drives Division of Parker Hannifin released a communication option card for the AC890 and AC890PX adjustable speed drives. Users can now choose from eight protocols including the newly released PROFINET/IO card. PROFINET is an open Ethernet-based networking solution for factory and process automation. The cards are easily installed, plugging into an option slot on the AC890 drive, and can be configured with DSE Lite software. The advantages of Ethernet include its growing popularity on the factory floor, ease of networking, and commercially available, low-cost cable and connectors. The new cards are compatible with AC890 firmware version 3.2 and later. Existing drives can be updated with current firmware by free download. |
