| New Explosion-Proof Rated Safety Light Curtain from STI |
 FREMONT, CA Scientific Technologies, Inc. introduces the new MiniSafe MS4600-EP explosion proof safety light curtain. Engineered to meet a broad range of explosion proof protection needs, the MS4600-EP is suitable for industries such as chemical processing, wastewater, pharmaceutical distillation and other hazardous process locations with gaseous environments. The MS4600-EP is housed in a rugged cast aluminum enclosure that meets UL886, NEC articles 500, 501 and 502, and CSA. They are rated for Class I, Group C and D explosive environments - the US standard for atmospheres represented by intermittent or continuous of Ethylene, and those represented by Propane. They are available with 0.75 in. (20 mm) and 1.18 in. (30 mm) resolutions in protected heights of 20.5 in., 34 in. and 48 in. (520, 870 and 1215 mm). The 0.75 in. resolution version also offers height protection of 24 in. (610 mm). All lengths have a 45 foot range (13.5 meter), and a "short range" version is also available. The MS4600-EP includes many of STI's standard safety light curtain features such as two box design, individual beam indicators, Exact Channel Select, Floating Blanking, choice of operating modes, MPCE monitoring and two PNP solid state safety outputs.
