| Moxa introduces AWK-4121 IP67-rated wireless access point | ||

.jpg) June 21, 2009 - The AWK-4121 is the latest outdoor 3-in-1 wireless access point/bridge/client from Moxa with IP67 certification. Designed for outdoor industrial wireless applications, the AWK-4121 can withstand extreme weather conditions and temperatures from -40° to 75°C. Outdoor industrial environments, such as mines and oil fields, are often subject to extreme temperatures and unpredictable weather conditions that can easily damage commercial-grade access points. To address these concerns, Moxa’s AWK-4121 is housed in an aluminum alloy die-cast enclosure for IP67-rated protection. Moreover, its M12 and waterproof RJ45 connectors prevent damages caused by rainfall, dirt and dust, extreme humidity, and excessive shock and vibration. Thanks to an innovative design that incorporates a fin-shaped heat sink on the back panel, the AWK-4121 can keep cool and operate without problem even in the most challenging outdoor environments. In addition to industrial IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards, the AWK-4121 is also compliant with IEEE 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) protocol for easier power distribution in outdoor applications. WEP, WPA/WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access), and IEEE 802.1X authentication enhance wireless network security, while STP/RSTP provides a dynamic backup port switching mechanism to protect data transmission security. In addition, many network administration features such as DHCP, which automatically manages IP addresses, web browsers, and IP filters, guarantee a secure wireless network environment. The AWK-4121 can also be mounted to a DIN-Rail or wall for easy installation. In addition, its LED display can be viewed from almost any height or angle for easy system inspection. Along with the integrated relay output and DI/DO, these features provide system administrators with real-time emergency updates.
