OMRON provides online access to datasheets for 4,000 products

KYOTO, Japan - OMRON has begun providing English language specifications for individual products on its global website in order to offer quicker order processing for customers. An example can be found here: www.ia.omron.com/product/item/e3z_1025e/index.html

As of March 2008, specifications for approximately 4,000 globally-available, general-purpose models have been listed, with more to be added in the future.

This new on-line product data eliminates the need for customers to refer to printed catalogs and datasheets, or make multiple telephone calls in order to confirm detailed product specifications or select equipment.

In the future, Omron IAB plans to make product delivery, price data and other information required for supply chain management (SCM) available online. In addition, region- and country-specific service information such as local sales costs, procurement and delivery times will be added to websites managed by Omron IAB’s overseas subsidiaries. Linking the data on Omron IAB’s global website with individual countries’ SCM systems in this way will enable online confirmation of QCD (quality, cost and delivery) factors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
