| Parker Compumotor Introduces Aries Series of Plug-In & Spin Drives |
Rohnert Park, California, August 14, 2003 Motion control leader Compumotor is pleased to introduce its latest drive offering, the Aries series. With its plug-in and spin design, the Aries family of high-power, compact digital servo drives requires no setup. Users simply attach any Compumotor smart encoder motor, and the drive automatically configures. Available in four versions 100, 200, 400 and 750 Watts the Aries family gives users a robust and cost-effective digital servo product: users only pay for the level of performance they need. Aries is designed with open architecture in mind, so it can also be configured for use with any manufacturers motion controller and servo motor. The Aries comes standard as a torque-only amplifier but is software selectable to run in velocity mode. An optional step-and-direction version is also available for users replacing stepper systems or not wanting to change their current step-and-direction interface. The Aries series features Flash-based operating systems, fault management, standard sub-D connectors for easy connectivity to any system and 120/240VAC input with optional 120/240VAC keep alive circuitry. Although Aries is compatible with any motion controller, users will see optimal results when the drive is paired with Compumotors ACR or 6K controllers.
