| Parker introduces DC590+ DC drives | ||

December 9, 2008 - SSD Drives Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation announced the DC590+ Integrator Series 2 line of DC drives. The DC590+ Integrator Series 2 offers control over a range of DC motor applications, improving performance and profitability. Featuring new 32-bit control architecture, the DC590+ benefits from the same function block programming capability as Parker's versatile AC690+ AC drive. This provides users with a flexible control structure allowing a combination of functions. The new series provides additional functionality and enhanced I/O while also serving as a backward-compatible drop-in replacement for any existing DC590+ applications and configurations. Each control function (an input, output, process PID for example) is represented as a software block that can be interconnected to all other blocks to provide any desired action. In some cases this eliminates the need for a PLC. Shipped pre-configured as a standard DC drive, the DC590+ can be operated directly from the box with minimal adjustment, or users can select from many pre-defined macros dedicated to section control such as winder/unwinder, dancer control, PID and load control to quickly configure more complex applications. To further improve operational flexibility, the drive communicates with all popular industrial protocols, including Ethernet, Profibus, ControlNet, DeviceNet and CANopen, making it suited to integration into larger multi-motor systems. The DC590+ can be programmed using the same DSE Lite software as Parker's AC range of drives, simplifying configuration, parameter setting, monitoring and diagnostics. DSE Lite software is provided free of charge with each drive. The DC590+ can also be ordered as a ready to install drive package: the DRV. This is a single integrated module that includes all the associated power components within a single package. This reduces design time, panel space, wiring time and cost. The DC590+ is available in four quandrant regenerative or two quadrant non-regenerative configurations with ratings up to 2700 amps and supply voltages up to 690V. |
