Parker Releases high power, all-digital Servo Drive

Parker Releases high power, all-digital Servo Drive
Rohnert Park, CA, April 14, 2006 - Parker's Electromechanical Automation Division announces the release of two new feature-packed, higher-powered additions to the Compax3 family of industrial high-performance, all-digital servo drives. These new power levels round out the lower-voltage input option (up to 230VAC) by increasing the current output to 10A and 15A RMS. A total of eight distinct power levels are now available ranging from 300W up to 20kW of continuous motor shaft power.

The new higher-powered Compax3 drives contain all the same features and benefits as their lower-powered siblings. These time- and cost-saving features include auto-tuning, internal function generator on all units, support for Stegmann single- and multi-turn absolute encoders to dispense with limit switches and homing routines, and many control levels available to fit any application.

All Compax3 drives ship with the feature-packed Compax3 ServoManager software package for commissioning the drive. The ServoManger program provides easy and intuitive diagnostic screens, graphical tuning utilities, an OS download tool, HTML Help tools, an S-curve acceleration calculator, and a motor-configuration wizard to be used with non-Parker motors. The ServoManager package is provided free of charge and may be downloaded from the Parker Electromechanical Automation Web site, parkermotion.com. Also available at parkermotion.com is a complete video training tutorial for ServoManager titled "Compax3 Video Training Series." This video series steps the user from beginning to end of commissioning the Compax3. There is a series for the drive-only (I10T10) units, a series for the indexers (I11T11), and a series for the advanced indexers (I12T11). A single series can be completed in as little as 20 minutes.
