Parker releases LC connector for BE and SM motors
January 21, 2009 - Parker’s Electromechanical Automation Division released a low-cost connector option.

Historically, Parker has produced robust servo motor products for the general automation market. These motors could stand up to shock loads, environmental temperature cycles, moisture and more. All connectors and mating cables had large metal connector housings, which are meant for superior noise immunity. Unfortunately, these connectors have been large – at least relative to a smaller servo motor – and they are expensive.

Since not all applications need to have these large connectors, Parker has released a standard low-cost connector option for the BE and SM motor families. The LC option uses an AMP or Tyco brand connector for both motor and feedback connectors. Previously, a low-cost connector would have flowed through our custom motor process. Having a standard LC option saves time and money.

The LC option has 8” cables with the AMP/Tyco connectors on the ends. The mating cable to the amplifier can be supplied by Parker Hannifin, or customers can build their own mating cables; Parker supplies all the information needed to be able to accomplish this. The AMP/Tyco brand of connectors and contacts are easily acquired through any number of electronic supply houses.
