Lanner releases VC-448DX four-channel video input card
September 23, 2008 - Lanner Electronics released a four-channel PCI Express video capture card with onboard H.264 compression and four-channel audio and video synchronization. The VC-448DX provides four-channel video input at full D1 resolution (30/25 frames per second for NTSC/PAL formats), along with four-channel audio input and automatic audio-video synchronization. It also includes onboard video compression using the H.264 (MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding) format for low bitrate streaming across a network.

The VC-448DX takes advantage of the latest H.264 video codec to deliver cutting-edge video infrastructure platforms, converting analog video signals to high-quality digital format with minimal loss in video quality, and requiring less than half the file size and bandwidth of earlier compression methods.

The four-channel card complements Lanner’s network video product line by providing a more incremental upgrade option compared to the 16-channel capture card, for example in a network video recorder that already has 16 or 32 channels, and only four additional channels are needed. The VC-448DX comes with complete software development kit, driver package and EyeShot 2000 control software.

The VC-448DX is available immediately.

“This new four-channel capture card provides increased flexibility for developing highly scalable video surveillance systems,” said Tim Chen, Senior Vice Present, Lanner Electronics. “The PCI Express interface provides fast throughput and the ability to install the card in a standard PCI-E slot, so that system integrators can add additional video inputs to a network surveillance system at any time, quickly and conveniently.”
