| Pepperl+Fuchs achieves UL accreditation for hazardous area panel assembly | ||

July 18, 2006 - TWINSBURG, OH – Pepperl+Fuchs Systems & Solutions Business Unit recently received UL508A, UL698A and UL698B accreditation from the Underwriters Laboratories Inc. for the manufacture and certification of general purpose and hazardous location control panels. UL508A allows Pepperl+Fuchs to build and certify as UL listed a general-purpose control panel. UL698A allows them to build and certify an industrial control panel intended for general industrial use and installation in unclassified locations with intrinsically safe circuit extensions into Class I, Class II, and Class III, Division 1 hazardous locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. Finally, UL698B allows Pepperl+Fuchs to build and certify industrial control equipment for installation and use in hazardous locations, Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D, and Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G, in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. These requirements also cover explosion-proof electrical equipment for installation and use in Class I, Zone 1, Groups IIA, IIB, IIB plus Hydrogen, and IIC hazardous (classified) locations. “Customers who choose to engineer a complete solution with Pepperl+Fuchs will benefit from our world class products for industrial, hazardous and corrosive environments, in a variety of panels and enclosures designed and built according to their specification, with the full assurance of UL accreditation,” says Louis Szabo, Business Development Manager for Pepperl+Fuchs. “We are now able apply a UL Listing to a control panel solution using intrinsic safety barriers or purge systems, and certify a control panel for use in hazardous locations.” Pepperl+Fuchs’ Systems & Solutions offers expert development, manufacture and commissioning of a wide range of solutions including marshalling cabinets, displays and annunciators, distribution panels, control room cabinets, Fieldbus panels, custom operator interface solutions, standard and customer Fieldbus junction boxes and Fieldbus power cabinets.
