| Pepperl+Fuchs Drops Licensing Fees on DTMs | ||
|
||
TWINSBURG, OH Effective March 2008, Pepperl+Fuchs has eliminated licensing fees for its Interface Technology, Level Control, Corrosion Detection, FieldConnex and HART Multiplexer Device Type Managers (DTM). These DTMs are now ready-to-use and fully-featured upon download from the company's website, enabling DTM projects to be initiated faster than ever. Pepperl+Fuchs PACTware FDT framework is also freely available. Licensing fees have not been eliminated for Advanced Diagnostic and Remote I/O DTMs. Pepperl+Fuchs customers were among the first to apply this advanced configuration technology for effective commissioning and operation of Fieldbus, HART Multiplexers, Interface Technology, Remote I/O, Corrosion and Level Detection devices. As a gesture of appreciation to those customers, and to further promote the widespread acceptance of FDT/DTM technology, the time has come to eliminate licensing fees for these DTMs to make these tools easily and freely available for use, says Robert Schosker, Product Manager. When it comes to Field Device Tools (FDT) and Device Type Managers (DTM), Pepperl+Fuchs has been among the major driving forces to develop and establish this technology on the market. As a result, DTM technology has become a worldwide standard to allow fast and easy configuration of even complex field devices prior to their operation. About Pepperl+Fuchs Pepperl+Fuchs has nearly 4,000 employees in more than 30 countries and is a world leader in the design, manufacture, application and support of a broad range of automation solutions. Pepperl+Fuchs is the market leader for intrinsic safety interfaces and hazardous location equipment. Our FieldConnex fieldbus installation system for Profibus and FOUNDATION fieldbus provides maximum flexibility to modern process automation applications. Additionally, P+Fs BEBCO EPS purge & pressurization system provides rugged protection for any type of instrumentation. This comprehensive range of explosion protection systems and interface equipment is complemented by technologies such as EXTEC visualization & operation systems, as well as on-line corrosion monitoring transmitters and level sensing instruments. |
