Phoenix Contact introduces Hybrid Cabling
May 17, 2007 - MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Hybrid cabling solutions provide a high-speed connection alternative for applications where a complete cabling solution is restricted. By providing a keyed header on one side and flying leads on the other, this connection solution reduces wiring time and errors, increasing production throughput up to 66 percent.

Hybrid cabling allows keyed connection on either the field or control side, while providing discrete connection on the other. This grants the user fast and error-free connection on one side and flexibility on the other, meaning the user can customize the channel mix based on the application requirement.

On the open-ended side, pre-ferruled conductors are color-coded and numbered with wire markers. These features ease installation and any possible future maintenance.

Each 26 AWG conductor making up the hybrid cable is capable of 125 volts at a maximum of 2A. Additionally, hybrid cables employ “multi-core conductor” construction, meaning each conductor runs independently through the cable itself. This construction allows a tight bend radius of the cable, ultimately making cable runs much easier for the user.

Currently, 14-, 20- and 50-pin versions of hybrid cables are available, with standard lengths ranging from .5 meter to 10 meters.
