| Phoenix Contact Introduces New Explosion-Proof Antenna Fitting | ||
|
||
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- Phoenix Contacts new explosion-proof antenna fitting requires no seal fitting and can easily be installed in a hazardous area. The RAD-CON-MCX-RPSMA-EX limits the amount of energy to the antenna, thereby eliminating the possibility of an explosion. The fitting can be used directly with any UL or CSA listed explosion-proof housing or fitting without need of a seal fitting. It allows any Phoenix Contact wireless product to be used in a Class 1, Div. 1 area with the antenna mounted outside the cabinet. The fitting is both flameproof and intrinsically safe. Three feet of integrated cable and an MCX connector connect the radio to the inside of the cabinet, then pass through the cabinet and attach to the antenna or additional cable with an RPSMA connector. Phoenix Contact, with U.S. headquarters in Middletown, Pa., is an independent subsidiary of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG of Blomberg, Germany, which operates 40 subsidiaries around the globe and employs more than 7,500 people. Phoenix Contact Quality System is registered to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Systems Model for Quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing. |
