| Pilz Automation Adds InduSoft Web Studio Software to Its PNOZmulti Controller |
Software can be used for configuration and monitoring of safety systems. Austin, Texas October 4, 2004 Pilz Automation Technology (Canton, MI) is now selling InduSoft Web Studio (IWS) as part of its PNOZmulti controller. InduSofts HMI/SCADA software will be used to configure and monitor the Pilz device. InduSoft developed a PNOZ driver to connect IWS with the Pilz controller. The relationship between the two companies will benefit the users, who will be able to view important data messages on the PNOZmulti Controller, including I/O status, LED indicator status and error messages. In addition, error messages can be written back to the PNOZmulti controller with remedy text that can be displayed in response to particular error messages. Users will also be able to view data from the PNOZmulti controller on Pilz PMIOpen Platform, a Touchscreen machine interface that runs Microsoft Windows CE and the Intel StrongARM platform. Three models of PMIOpen are available, with displays in 5.7 (STN display), 10.4 and 12.1 inches (both TFT displays). All three models are compact and robust, resistant to vibration, and provide protection against dust, water sprays, and a wide variety of agressive chemicals. The PMIOpen line was one of the first hardware platforms to pass InduSofts Hardware Certification program. InduSoft offers the program to any OEM that wants to certify that IWS will run on the embedded somputers it is using for control, such as StrongARM. PNOZmulti is positioned between standard safety relays and Pilz high-end line of PSS Safety PLC and Safety BUS p, the worlds first safety network with over 100,000 nodes deployed worldwide. A programmable and modular safety relay system, PNOZmulti replaces conventional safety relays with a flexible and programmable solution. PNOZmulti also replaces multiple hard-wired safety relays with a single, expandable controller. InduSoft Web Studio is a powerful, integrated collection of automation tools that includes all the building blocks needed to develop human machine interfaces (HMIs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and embedded instrumentation and control applications. InduSoft Web Studio runs in native Windows NT, 2000, XP, CE 3.0, and CE .NET 4.0/4.1/4.2 environments and conforms to industry standards such as Microsoft .NET, OPC, DDE, ODBC, XML, SOAP, and ActiveX.
