Saline, MI - July 18, 2007 - Pro-face America released Pro-Server EX 1.2 data collection, sharing and process monitoring software. New features in this latest release of Pro-Server EX include OPC Server, MES Actions, and the ability to run Pro-Server EX as a service in MS Windows.

Cost Effective Data Management: Pro-Server EX is a powerful, cost effective data management server that provides real-time data and reporting of automated manufacturing and production environments at a fraction of the price of a full SCADA system. If your productivity reports are MS Excel reports, or you want to expand the data collection and data sharing capabilities of an existing manufacturing reporting system (like MES or SCADA), then Pro-face Pro-Server EX is your solution.

OPC Connectivity and More: Pro-Server EX includes all the software connectivity to link to any system, MES actions, DDE, DLL, Active X and now an OPC Server application (DA3.0 compatible). OPC is a series of standards specifications for use in process control and manufacturing automation applications to facilitate communication and data exchange. This feature allows connection between a wide variety of OCP client applications and devices.

Manufacturing Execution System (MES) connectivity: Pro-Server EX can now connect to any Manufacturing Execution System (MES) using a licensed plug-in to perform MES Actions. MES Actions supports the nine data collection functions within a MES (System). This new software connectivity allows the sharing of data with other components of an MES system. MES Actions provides the interface between the plant floor, where raw data is collected, and the database from which data analysis for process control and improvement can be performed. Using Pro- Server EX, companies can improve their measurement, control and analysis of critical production activities to improve processes.

Prevent Accidental Shutdown: In addition to OPC and MES support, Pro-Server EX can now run as a MS Windows service, meaning that data collection and transfer can continue with MS Windows running even in a user logged off condition. This also helps prevent the application from accidentally being shut down.

Step-by-Step configuration: Pro-Server EX is easy to use with a step by step setup process, using a fill-in-the blank configuration style to guide users along the way. This software includes over twenty-five template reports in MS Excel format to get you up and running quickly, or users can create their own custom reports. Remote diagnostics over the internet is supported, saving time and money for System Integrators who need remote access to troubleshoot systems or make adjustments.
