QSI Human Machine Interface Built for Rugged Environments
January 27, 2011 - QSI Corporation (a Beijer Electronics Group Company), a designer and manufacturer of rugged human machine interface (HMI) and mobile data terminals, is pleased to introduce the new QTERM-A12 HMI. Built to perform in extreme environments, the QTERM-A12 meets NEMA-4X / IP66 specifications, operates in -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F) and is UL 508 and UL Class I Div 2 certified pending.

Features include a 307 mm (12.1"), 800 x 600 pixel TFT-LCD LED backlight display, resistive touch screen, Ethernet 10/100Base-T interface with two USB 2.0 full-speed host ports and two serial ports to connect to nearly any device. The QTERM-A12 offers universal connectivity and is environmentally tested to withstand shock, vibration, humidity and extreme temperature ranges.

The QTERM-A12 comes loaded with a choice of iX Software for automation control or Windows Embedded CE 6.0. iX software includes drivers to communicate with automation equipment (PLC, motion control, etc), scalable vector-based graphics (WPF), open architecture (.NET, C#), intuitive design environment and enhanced HMI functionality for today’s automation control market. Windows® Embedded CE 6.0 allows for easy integration with existing systems and offers a variety of programming and software options.

“The expanded temperature range, bright LED backlight display and versatile automation software allow the QTERM-A12 to perform in demanding environments commonly found on oil rigs, marine vessels or on the factory floor,” said Bob Mullins, Product Manager at QSI Corporation. “And with the ability to connect to most automation equipment, the QTERM-A12 becomes the perfect choice for those looking to streamline their operations.”
