Lean Manufacturing techniques allow industry-first, 24-hour turn around of customer orders at no extra charge. FOXBORO, MASSACHUSETTS, USA May 31, 2006 In response to increasing customer demand, Invensys Process Systems has expanded the range of Foxboro instrument products available for quick delivery under its unique Rocket Shipment program. The program now includes 90% of pressure measurement products, 80% of DolpHin pH sensors, plus many popular magnetic flowmeters, strip chart recorders, and electronic indicating recorders. Rocket Shipment is an industry-first order processing and production system that facilitates a 24-hour turn around of custom orders for a broad range of Foxboro instrumentation products at no extra charge. We developed the Rocket Shipment program in May 2005 to help our customers improve their operations by reducing inventory, minimizing downtime and improving the efficiency of their ordering process, said Ken Brown, vice president and general manager of the Invensys Process Systems Measurements and Instruments division. Since the industry standard for order fulfillment without rush charges is two weeks, it shouldnt come as a surprise that our 24-hour turnaround Rocket Shipment program has really taken off. Last months demand reached an all-time high and we will continue to expand the program to meet the growing market demand for quality products, shipped within 24 hours of order placement as a standard service, said Brown. The Rocket Shipment Program involved a complete overhaul to streamline Invensys Measurements and Instruments operations. We had to revamp order entry, manufacturing and product quality assurance, but the effort was clearly worth it for us and our customers, said Joe Bazzinotti, general manager, manufacturing of the Invensys Measurements and Instruments division. Today, in addition to shipping 99.9% of Rocket Shipment orders within 24 hours, our outstanding quality assurance program allows us to extend warranties on Foxboro pressure transmitters from two years to five years, at no additional charge to provide the industrys longest standard warranty, said Bazzinotti. About Invensys Invensys is the world leader in industrial asset performance management. In addition to its rapidly expanding Global Solutions and Performance Management services groups, Invensys automation businesses includes industry-leading brands such as Foxboro, Triconex, SimSci-Esscor, Wonderware, and Avantis, whose products are installed in more than 100,000 plants across the world.
