Provides manufacturers with global technical resources and vertical industry expertise to support successful plant-wide information application integration BALTIMORE, Oct. 25, 2006 Rockwell Automation today announced that it has formed the FactoryTalk Information Solution Provider Program, an initiative that will result in an extended network of approved information systems professionals to help manufacturers build successful plant-wide information applications and manufacturing execution systems (MES) using the FactoryTalk integrated production and performance suite. Through the FactoryTalk Information Solution Provider Program, Rockwell Automation will train and certify information system professionals who have the application, business and vertical market expertise to help companies integrate their control and information environments for better manufacturing performance. Providers will be wellversed in implementing MES and integration platforms within the FactoryTalk suite namely FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, FactoryTalk Integrator and FactoryTalk Portal and integrating these applications with enterprise resource planning and plant-floor control systems. Integration of control and information environments continues to be a strategic imperative at most manufacturing companies, and this program gives manufacturers across a broad range of industries the resources they need to make their integration efforts successful, said Kevin Roach, vice president of Rockwell Software, Rockwell Automation. The FactoryTalk Information Solution Provider Program will provide more options for manufacturers looking to gain better insight into their manufacturing operations and increase their competitive advantage. Rockwell Automation currently provides technical resources within its Manufacturing and Process Solutions group that build and deliver MES and plant-wide integration applications leveraging the FactoryTalk suite. Additional highly qualified solutions providers also will undergo the training and certification process to become members of the program. Working with certified solution providers will help lower the risk and increase the success of MES applications using the FactoryTalk suite, Roach added. Customers need to have seamless integration with their manufacturing plant-floor operations, as part of their enterprise to enable better business decision making across their organization and throughout their entire supply and demand chain, said Bruce Anderson, vice president, supply chain management, industrial sector, global business services, IBM. IBMs existing technology and services relationship with Rockwell Automation is focused on driving real improvements in the manufacturing operations of our joint customers. This new program complements that objective and our investments in supply chain management and service-oriented architectures. Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK), is a leading global provider of automation, power, control, and information solutions that help manufacturers achieve a competitive advantage in their businesses. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., U.S.A., the company employs about 21,000 people serving customers in more than 80 countries. |
