Rockwell Automation Receives Intel's Prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin, March 25, 2003 – Rockwell Automation was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s prestigious 2002 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award, Intel’s highest honor for its suppliers, for outstanding commitment to quality and performance by suppliers that provide products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company was given the award for its efforts in supplying Intel with SCADA, PLCs, I/O, industrial networks, and software and integration services. Rockwell Automation and 12 additional SCQI award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, Calif. on March 26.

"Intel is pleased to recognize Rockwell Automation for achieving the highest level of supplier performance for a second consecutive year," said Leon Cooley, manager of Intel's Construction for NM/CO/TX. "This was achieved by Rockwell Automation’s focus on continuous improvement and commitment to lowering Intel's total cost of ownership. Rockwell Automation has delivered on key projects both in the U.S. and around the globe while continuing to exceed our high expectations."

“It is an honor to receive the Intel SCQI award for a second consecutive year,” said Randy Freeman, vice president, Industry Initiatives, Rockwell Automation. “We value the Intel supplier quality program because it complements our own continuous improvement culture. We look forward to an even stronger partnership with Intel globally.”

The SCQI awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process, which encourages Intel’s key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://supplier.intel.com/quality/.

Intel also will recognize SCQI award winners today with an advertisement in the U.S., Europe and Asian editions of The Wall Street Journal.
