Rockwell publishes Digital Consultant Resource Catalog
April 26, 2010 — A new digital tool helps make it faster and easier for consulting engineers to specify products and solutions from Rockwell Automation. The Heavy Industries Consultant Resource Catalog (CRC) helps reduce engineering time and costs for the consultant by providing the information and tools to help make the right product decisions and produce professional project procurement specifications. The catalog also helps consultants adhere to LEED requirements and specification standards in the Water Wastewater, Mining, Minerals and Cement, Oil and Gas, and Power Generation and Infrastructure industries.

The more than 80 automation and control specification categories in the Consultant Resource Catalog help consultants choose solutions for:
  • Energy-Efficiency
  • Sustainability
  • Safety
  • Intelligent Motor Control
  • Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Integrated Architecture
  • DCS/Process Automation Control

  • Many of the specifications are written in the style and format of the industry-preferred Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) to make it quicker and easier for consultants to incorporate specification information into their own documents. This helps save the time and cost associated with rewriting specifications to industry standards.

“The consulting community is a critical group of companies that influence so many industries,” says Pat Murray, manager of Industry Sales at Rockwell Automation. “Providing these engineers with updated tools and current data on the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture system and Power Control enable them to correctly specify and engineer Rockwell Automation products into the owner’s projects. The new CRC also provides these engineers with the ability to receive automatic updates as changes and enhancements occur.”

The CRC is a collection of product and solution literature, specifications and engineering software from Rockwell Automation. A CRC USB provides the unique feature of two easy-to-use interfaces, so consultants can view information either by Industry and Solutions or by Product.

The Industry and Solutions interface helps educate consultants on product benefits with industry-specific brochures, knowledge, application and case studies, and accelerator toolkits.

The Product interface provides product-specific brochures, knowledge, configuration and selection tools, and procurement specifications to help consultants choose solutions and assist in the intricacies of construction-specification writing.

Application and case studies demonstrate the extensive experience of the company’s success in the Water Wastewater, Mining, Minerals and Cement, Oil and Gas, and Power Generation and Infrastructure industries. The service and support category highlights Rockwell Automation services, such as global solutions, asset management and training services. The catalog is free to consultants and uses current program updater software to automatically update the CRC with new information.

Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE: ROK), the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and information, makes its customers more productive and the world more sustainable. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., Rockwell Automation employs about 19,000 people serving customers in more than 80 countries.
