PALATINE, Ill. May 15, 2007 Schneider Electric announced the availability of its enterprise energy management (EEM) solution for industrial organizations, designed to help achieve higher energy efficiency, while reducing energy-related emissions, costs and downtime. The solution combines Square D PowerLogic ION EEM software with expert engineering services to deliver a customized set of energy modeling, dimensional analysis and visualization tools to stakeholders from finance to operations. Integrating electricity and piped utilities consumption, weather and real-time pricing feeds, as well as other relevant data inputs, the software reveals inefficiencies, tracks performance metrics and supports accurate budgeting exercises. Energy has a significant impact on the bottom line and, as economic and environmental challenges increase, companies are taking a closer look at how they purchase and use energy in their facilities, said Cassie Quaintance, Schneider Electric Energy Market Segment Manager. Schneider Electrics new EEM technology unites business and energy strategies by giving managers a powerful dashboard for understanding the true drivers behind efficiency, cost and reliability. This helps corporate finance officers, energy program directors and plant managers collaborate on decisions, and share best practices that will sustain savings, meet emissions standards and boost productivity. The EEM system performs quality assurance on all data inputs. It then accurately models and normalizes energy usage patterns benchmarking and comparing the performance of multiple facilities or processes to reveal savings opportunities and help managers set clear and achievable goals. A web-enabled dashboard presents key performance indicators to help programs stay on track and to validate the resulting return on investment of efficiency projects. A built-in rate engine supports accurate utility bill analysis, cost allocation, forecasting and rate comparisons to optimize energy procurement. The software also offers advanced power quality event classification, filtering and correlation to quickly isolate conditions that may be causing production disruptions or equipment damage. PowerLogic ION EEM is a proven solution that delivers the actionable intelligence needed to support a complete energy and emissions management program, from the boardroom to the factory floor. Headquartered in Palatine, Ill., the North American Operating Division of Schneider Electric had sales of $3.7 billion (U.S.) in 2006. The North American Operating Division is one of four operating divisions of Schneider Electric, headquartered in Paris, France, and markets the Square D, Telemecanique and Merlin Gerin brand products to customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In the United States, Schneider Electric is best known by its flagship Square D brand, with Telemecanique becoming increasingly known in the industrial control and automation markets and supported by many Square D distributors. For more than 100 years, Square D has been a market-leading brand of electrical distribution and industrial control products, systems and services. Schneider Electric is a global electrical industry leader with 2006 sales of approximately $17.2 billion (U.S.). |
