PALATINE, Ill. — October 28, 2007 — Schneider Electric introduces the Industrial Solutions Center (ISC), a vertically integrated resource that can provide application-specific solutions, engineering support, continuous improvement consulting and project management services to manufacturers and industrial customers. The ISC is designed to act as an extension of an end user’s design and operations teams, and its staff of dedicated experts helps manufacturers maximize the efficiency and productivity of their manufacturing operations.

The ISC’s more than 50 engineers, industry specialists and project managers have experience in the food and beverage, oil and gas, automotive, logistics, water/wastewater, power, mining, metal and mineral industries. With the addition of the Industrial Solutions Center, Schneider Electric is able to extend its solution scope beyond control equipment to include complete systems, encompassing engineered solutions, project management and coordination, and productivity solutions.

“Our industrial customers want a solutions provider with strong automation, control and process expertise,” said Greg Bodenhamer, director, Industrial Solutions Center, Schneider Electric North American Operating Division. “The Industrial Solutions Center offers interoperable solutions that can connect control systems to enterprise systems for improved production yield and efficiency, and, ultimately, improve total operational performance.

“ISC solutions will extend the life of manufacturers’ existing automation and control investments, help maximize their return on new capital investments, and lower their total cost of ownership,” Bodenhamer said. “We also want to help manufacturers improve the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes, and to speed project cycle time through efficient project and value chain management.”

The ISC is a true business partner that builds trusted relationships with manufacturers and industrial customers by understanding their business strategies and goals. Dan McGinn, director of engineering and projects, Industrial Solutions Center, said, “Customers will notice that we take a more holistic approach to managing projects. We have the ability to step back and see the whole picture, allowing us to intimately understand their needs.”

Headquartered in Palatine, Ill., the North American Operating Division of Schneider Electric had sales of $3.7 billion (U.S.) in 2006. The North American Operating Division is one of four operating divisions of Schneider Electric, headquartered in Paris, France, and markets the Square D, Telemecanique and Merlin Gerin brand products to customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In the United States, Schneider Electric is best known by its flagship Square D brand, with Telemecanique becoming increasingly known in the industrial control and automation markets and supported by many Square D distributors. For more than 100 years, Square D has been a market-leading brand of electrical distribution and industrial control products, systems and services. Schneider Electric is a global electrical industry leader with 2006 sales of approximately $17.2 billion (U.S.).
