Scientific Technologies, Inc. Introduces The MiniProtect MP2100 Protective Light Curtain
Cost Effective Machine Guarding for Low-Risk Equipment

FREMONT, CA – Scientific Technologies, Inc. (STI) introduces the MiniProtect MP2100 Protective Light Curtain. The MP2100 provides reliable, cost effective Type 2 guarding on equipment where low risk factors have been assessed. The control circuitry is housed within the transmitter and receiver. No separate control box is required. Two (factory selectable) operating modes allow the MP2100 to be used in point of operation or perimeter guarding applications.

The MP2100 provides 30 mm resolution, 15 m range, and protected heights from 147 to 1470 mm. It’s slim, compact design and adjustable mounting brackets allow mounting in locations where space is at a premium. Two solid-state safety outputs provide 500 mA at 24 VDC. LED status indicators facilitate alignment and provide machine status. Precise optics and sophisticated electronics provide high immunity to strobe or ambient light interference.

Additional features include quick-disconnect cables and two PNP safety outputs. Low ESD and darkroom-compatible models are available.

With headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley, STI was founded over 30 years ago and employs more than 340 people. STI has been selected twice by Forbes and three times by Business Week as one of the “world’s best small companies.” STI’s safety products are used to protect workers around machinery, automated equipment and industrial robots.
