Scientific Technologies, Inc. (STI) introduces the ESD5020 Enabling Switch Device
New Enabling Switch Device Aids With Set-Up and Trouble-Shooting Robotic or Automated Machinery

FREMONT, CA – Scientific Technologies, Inc. (STI) introduces the ESD5020 Enabling Switch Device. CE listed to all applicable standards, the ESD5020 provides the margin of safety needed during troubleshooting, set-up, programming or servicing of robotic or automated machinery when no other safety devices are possible or practical, as required by ANSI/RIA R15.06.

The ESD5020 is available with a wide variety of holder kits for easy integration into any number of applications. Two three-position enabling switches are integrated into the trigger to provide the operator with constant control. The trigger’s middle “enabled” position is easy to feel, and redundant switch contacts ensure that the machinery can be stopped by releasing or squeezing the trigger.

Optional switch buttons and LED indicators may be added for activating user defined functions and providing visual status indication. Users can also select from a variety of connector types or integral 10 m cable terminations.

With headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley, STI was founded over 30 years ago and employs more than 330 people. STI has been selected twice by Forbes and three times by Business Week as one of the “world’s best small companies.” STI’s safety products are used to protect workers around machinery, automated equipment and industrial robots.
