Sealevel announces SeaPAC-LX flat panel computer
June 29, 2007 - Sealevel Systems, Inc. announces the SeaPAC-LX flat panel touchscreen computer combining the latest AMD Geode processor with a wide selection of touchscreen LCDs and I/O expansion modules. The innovative modular design of the SeaPAC-LX gives system designers virtually unlimited configuration options and makes field maintenance and upgrades easy. SeaPAC-LX systems are perfect for a variety of operator interface and machine control applications requiring small size and versatile I/O connectivity.

Powered by a high-performance, fanless 500MHz AMD Geode LX800 processor, SeaPAC-LXs are equipped with a robust standard I/O feature set. Dual 10/100Base-T Ethernet, four serial ports, four high-speed USB 2.0 ports, and eight bits general purpose digital I/O are available on each system. For flexible local and remote I/O interface, SeaPAC-LXs expand using Sealevel’s SeaI/O data acquisition modules. Designers can choose from Reed and Form C relays, optically isolated inputs, TTL, A/D, D/A, and serial options. The SeaPAC-LX’s processor communicates with SeaI/O devices using Modbus RTU allowing one or more SeaI/O modules to be physically attached to the SeaPAC-LX or located remotely up to 4000 feet away.

SeaPAC-LX system are available with displays ranging from 6.4 – 17” and include a rugged panel mount bezel that provides Nema 4/IP65 protection from sprayed liquids on the front surface. The optional resistive touchscreen enables intuitive operator interface and offers years of durable service. SeaPAC-LXs are powered by 12VDC, and power is provided to SeaI/O expansion modules using convenient pass-through connectors. The system is rated for 0-50°C operation, and a VESA bracket allows attaching to a mounting arm.

Windows XP Embedded is a perfect operating system choice for SeaPAC-LX systems. Sealevel offers application assistance for efficiently transferring customer applications to the XPe platform. Using XPe, the application can execute from Compact Flash, creating a completely solid-state solution for ultimate reliability. For users that require disk storage, an optional high-temperature hard drive is available. SeaPAC-LX systems are priced beginning at $1495, and product is available immediately from stock.

Sealevel Systems, founded in 1986, provides industrial computing solutions in addition to a variety of communications and I/O products including PCI Bus cards, Ethernet serial servers, USB serial adapters, PCMCIA cards, and PC/104 modules. Their product line includes multi-port RS-232, RS-422/485, RS-232/422/485 multi-interface high-speed sync/async, and digital/relay I/O.
