August 14, 2008 — SICK opened of a new facility in Baltimore, Md. to better serve the postal industry. This new office, which includes a showcase room for on-site customer and partner visits, houses a fully-equipped conveyor loop highlighting SICK’s expanding line of solutions for postal applications. As SICK continues to enhance its position in the postal market, this new office will allow SICK to further invest in both new and existing postal opportunities.

In addition to a new facility, SICK is pleased to announce the addition of Rob Stone, vice president of postal solutions and Pat Ryan, project manager for postal solutions. Stone, who most recently served as the Manager of Business and Research Development and Production Programs at Northrop Grumman, has more than ten years of material handling and logistics automation experience. Stone will oversee the SICK postal team and develop strategic initiatives related to the postal business.

Ryan, also a former Northrop Grumman employee, will manage projects and customer interface for postal programs at SICK. Previously a Project Manager of Deployment for Northrop Grumman, Ryan was responsible for deployment efforts for the United States Postal Service. Adding these two strategic staff positions will enhance the strong efforts made by the existing SICK postal team.
