| Siemens enhances a new line of HMI and Flat Operator Panels with the latest LCD technology | |||

 For the HDTV generation, Siemens has released the next generation of its mid-level touch and operator panels. The new 277 panel series replaces the highly successful 270 series with the latest LCD technology and advanced features that were previously limited to high-end models. For larger applications, users can punch up to 4MB of memory using the OP and TP277, while 6MB is available using the MP277 series. USB, Ethernet, Profibus and other open interfaces are offered, along with a USB hub that allows external I/O devices to be used without opening the control cabinet. The screens are TFT active matrix, with a lifetime rating of 50,000 hours. All screens are offered in 6 and 10-inch, touch and function-key models. Siemens has added an eight-inch screen size option for the MP277 and Mobile 277 series.
