Siemens Showcasing High Performance Process Automation

Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., announced today that they will be focusing on the high performance capability of their SIMATIC PCS 7 process automation system at this year’s ISA EXPO.

Siemens believes that a high performance process automation system includes three crucial elements. First, the system needs to provide tight integration of all devices that comprise the systems, such as drives and MCCs, not just field instrumentation. Second, the system should have safety life cycle management tools built into its system to assist companies in meeting industrial safety standards, such as ANS/ISA S84-2004. Third, the system should offer one simple fieldbus for process and discrete that also integrates existing bus technologies. Siemens has this technology built into their PCS 7 system and is ready to demonstrate how this high performance DCS can ultimately reduce life cycle cost to compete in the marketplace now and in the future.

“Over the next year, we want to send a clear message to our partners and customers that our capabilities are unmatched,” said Todd Stauffer, SIMATIC PCS 7 Marketing Manager for Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. “Everyone knows that technology is changing and that the increasing total cost of ownership of process control systems will hurt your business if you’re not prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s technologies. That’s why we want to show how SIMATIC PCS 7 is going beyond the standards of DCS. We want to show our partners and customers why SIMATIC PCS 7 is the new performance standard in DCS.”

During the ISA EXPO, Siemens will be inviting guests to listen to several of their industry experts. Among them, Charles Fialkowski, Process Safety; Ken Keiser, Migration; and John Cusimano, Process Safety, will be presenting how the innovations of SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system and the integrated SIMATIC S7-FH safety system are helping companies save money and improve system operations.

Life cycle services from Siemens encompass the entire life cycle configuration which process control users need to stay current and competitive throughout all stages of production life cycle, no matter the size of the organization. Siemens is a forward- thinking company that is known globally for their innovation, products, services and solutions.
