Silentium Silences Servers and HVAC Systems

July 13, 2010 – Silentium achieves up to 30 dB(A) of noise reduction, which the human ear registers as a 96% noise elimination, using Active Noise Control (ANC) technology.

ANC neutralizes noise by producing an "anti-noise" signal, eliminating noise and allowing all internal equipment, such as fans, to run at optimal speeds, dramatically lowering cooling costs. Silentium’s two primary products are the S-Cube Kit (SCK), a low–cost basic building block for mass-produced products, and S-Cube Development Kit (SCDK), for designing or retrofitting customer’s products.

Noise pollution has transcended from being an annoyance to a recognized health risk. When people can't speak in normal conversational tones within a distance of two meters (6.5 feet), they are at risk for a variety of health problems including hearing loss, stress-related disorders, and even heart attack.

ANC greens everything it touches. Silentium realizes that people are bombarded by noise pollution at work, home, on the road and in the street. Silentium’s unique AcoustiRACK Active (a “Server Room in a Cabinet”), eliminates the need for dedicated server rooms for IT equipment, including servers from HP, Dell, Intel, IBM and others, and allows companies to reclaim valuable office/lab space while reducing overall cost of cooling and power consumption.

The HVAC industry benefits from Silentium's S-Cube kits or by adding on the ActiveSilencer duct to existing HVAC systems.
