Softing announces PROFIBUS Analyzer
August 7, 2007, Newburyport, MA, USA - Softing announces the availability of its new bus check analyzers. This PROFIBUS Protocol Analyzer is an indispensable tool for analyzing and optimizing communication in PROFIBUS networks. It is ideally suited for continuously monitoring a network, detecting hidden errors early on, optimizing data throughput and analyzing configuration errors. The tool is connected to the PROFIBUS network via the PROFIBUS Probe USB interface, which guarantees easy mobile use as well.

An optional second connector for MBP (Manchester Bus Powered) physics enables a direct link to PROFIBUS PA networks. This means that both sides of a segment coupler can be analyzed and monitored at the same time. An optimized receiver circuit for diagnostic purposes allows the detection of errors on the bit, byte and frame level.

The following list summarizes the functionality of the bus check PROFIBUS Protocol Analyzer:
  • Protocol analysis for PROFIBUS DP and PA networks and devices
  • Detection of a live list (list of all active stations on the bus) and displaying in the form of a tree structure
  • Extensive online diagnosis of all key parameters of a PROFIBUS DP network (incl. master and slaves)
  • Effective logging and display filters
  • Extensive trigger functions
  • Telegram decoding for FDL, DP, DP-V1, DP-V2
  • Telegram logging, also as long-term logging
  • Automatic generation of a report about the test result
  • Intuitive user interface
  • USB interface PROFIBUS Probe with diagnosis logic for precise results
