Beta versions of Microsoft BizTalk RFID software drivers for Intermec equipment available June 12 EVERETT, Wash., June 6, 2006 - Intermec Inc., a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, today announced support for Microsoft BizTalk RFID, which was introduced today at the UConnect Conference in Nashville, Tenn. Intermec's RFID team worked with Microsoft to test and refine Microsoft BizTalk RFID, which has been designed to allow all users to simply and easily incorporate RFID information and data into a variety of applications and end-to-end business processes. The "plug and play" functionality in Microsoft BizTalk RFID makes it possible for RFID devices, such as Intermec readers and printers, to become fully compatible with the Microsoft platform and to integrate with third-party applications and processes. As an early adopter invited to work with Microsoft on its RFID initiatives, Intermec is able to ensure its RFID systems are compatible with and able to fully support Microsoft BizTalk RFID. "Through our ongoing work with Intermec, BizTalk RFID will help make the development and management of RFID-based data and processes easier and more cost-effective. Intermec and its experts have helped us bring RFID out of the lab and into the enterprise." Intermec RFID equipment will fully support Microsoft BizTalk RFID. The first software drivers supporting Microsoft BizTalk RFID will be released in early Q4.
